Premise

Ziggy wants to play “outer space” with the other kids, but they say he’s too small. Robbie Rotten poses as an alien named Zobby and tries to make the kids do his bidding. Ziggy befriends the “alien” but the other kids believe “Zobby” should return to his own planet. They blast Zobby and Ziggy into space in a homemade rocket, which goes haywire. Sportacus arrives just in time to save the day.

Plot synopsis

Prologue

Sportacus wakes up and jumps out of bed. He then puts on a pair of roller skates and grabs a hockey stick, which he uses to neaten the duvet and hit the pillow back in place. He concludes “now that’s how you make a bed!”

Main episode

Stephanie, Stingy and Pixel have set up the LazyTown Sky Watcher’s Club, and are building a spaceship with the hopes of going to space and contacting aliens. The noise of them working irritates Robbie Rotten, who is attempting to nap. As Pixel is setting up the satellite system, Ziggy enters, eager to meet an alien, and accidentally crashes into the equipment. Pixel tells him that his lab is for “big kids only” and that he shouldn’t get involved. Ziggy then goes to help Stingy install a satellite dish on the Treehouse, but knocks over the ladder, crushing Stephanie and himself, and leaving Stingy about to fall off the edge of the Treehouse. Robbie is initially entertained by Stingy’s cries for help, until he realises that they will disrupt his nap further. Sportacus enters and saves the children, before leaving them to continue with their space project. Ziggy is still adamant on joining the club, but Stephanie and Stingy refuse, claiming he’s too small to pilot the spaceship and might crash it. When Ziggy leaves, Stephanie feels bad, but Stingy suggests that if Ziggy were to actually encounter an alien, he might have a panic attack and not talk for a week. Robbie overhears this exchange, and disguises himself as an alien in order to scare the children into being quiet.

Ziggy tries to start his own club based on cakes and sweets, but this only makes him feel lonelier and smaller. Meanwhile, Stephanie and Stingy sing about the joys of going to space (Galaxy). The song delays the completion of the ship, leaving it only almost done, to the annoyance of Pixel. As Ziggy laments and says that he’d trade all his sweets for a friend, Robbie, in disguise as Zobby, enters. Ziggy believes that he is an actual space alien, and instead of being scared by him, he believes he is his new friend. He leaves to offer him his favourite sweet as a token of friendship, and tells Stephanie and Stingy about what just happened. They agree that if he knows a real life alien, he can join the club. However, when they go to locate Zobby, he’s gone. They find him by a bench, and start shouting excitedly. Zobby, whose head hurts from crashing earlier, orders them to be quiet and instructs them to only speak in whispers. The kids oblige, and he takes the opportunity to fall asleep on the bench. Ziggy believes that being on Earth has tired him out, and Stephanie and Stingy conclude that the right thing to do would be to return him to his home planet. Ziggy is upset that his new friend must leave so soon, and offers to help him back home as a final act of friendship. The others refuse again to let him partake in the dangerous mission.

Stephanie and Stingy take Zobby to the spaceship in a wheelbarrow while he is still asleep. Meanwhile, Ziggy goes back home, upset that he can’t help out. Sportacus arrives and tells him that he can never be too small to help out a friend. Pixel calibrates the ship to autopilot back to Zobby’s home planet. When he finds that the planet Zobby namedropped, Junknupiter, doesn’t exist, he lets Stephanie pick another planet at random, which they called the "pretty green planet". However, Ziggy interprets Sportacus’s message as a sign he should take control of the ship to help Zobby back home, and Pixel is unable to override the launch sequence. The noise of the ship wakes up Zobby, and the two are blasted off into the sky. Robbie breaks out of character and frantically tells Ziggy that he is not an alien, but can’t be heard over the rush of wind. As the spaceship passes Sportacus’s airship, Sportacus goes to help Ziggy. A large amount of turbulence, combined with Ziggy’s naïve driving, makes the ride rough, but Robbie insists he doesn’t need a seat belt and attempts to escape, only to end up helplessly dangling off one of the ship’s wings. Sportacus arrives just in time and manages to pull Robbie back into his seat. Ziggy panics and declares that he is too small to land the ship properly, but with Sportacus’s encouragement, he does so successfully. Back on land, Sportacus accidentally pulls off Robbie’s alien helmet, revealing Zobby’s true form. Ziggy is upset that his new friend was a fake, but everyone reassures him that they are his friends, and apologise for leaving him out of their games. They then sing the Bing Bang song.

Epilogue

Robbie returns to his lair to finally have an uninterrupted nap, but is suddenly interrupted by a tractor beam. As the off camera voice of seemingly real aliens call out to him, Robbie starts to let out a scream as it cuts to the credits.
