Prince Stingy is the 19th episode of LazyTown. It premiered on June 10, 2005. It is centered mainly on Stingy, similarly to the Crystal Caper.

Premise

Robbie makes Stingy believe he’s the prince of LazyTown. Stingy loves being prince, and doesn't notice when Robbie locks him in a castle. Meanwhile, Robbie tells the LazyTowners they can't be active any more, saying that it’s an order from Prince Stingy. Stingy realizes he’s been fooled, and must be rescued by his friends.

Plot synopsis

Prologue

Daytime, Sportacus is awake. Sportacus builds a Castle out of Apples which fits in with the Medieval theme of the episode. The Apple Castle has Blue Flags. The Apples magically form themselves into a Castle with little input from Sportacus.

Main episode

As the episode begins, the kids are pretending to be musketeers, with Stephanie, Trixie, and Pixel portraying the three musketeers, while Ziggy is a jester, and Stingy is a prince. When the game comes to an end, Stingy is disappointed when he is not treated like a prince anymore. Robbie overhears this, and comes up with a scheme to get rid of Sportacus involving Stingy's wish to be a prince. Robbie disguises himself as a knight (complete with a fake horse) and "rides" into town. When Robbie finds the kids, he declares that he is looking for the Lost Prince of LazyTown, and that that person will have complete control over LazyTown. Robbie has a shoe with him that he says will only fit the prince. He immediately disqualifies Stephanie and Trixie, as he is "looking for a prince, not a princess". After Ziggy is found to not be the prince, Stingy sees what's going on and rushes over, where he is promptly declared the prince. The song begins, featuring an unusual amount of activity from Robbie. After the song, Robbie takes Stingy to his "castle" (which is the same building as the Leaning Tower of LazyTown)and lures him inside with the promise of treasure. He locks Stingy inside and runs back to town to read a series of new laws that he claims were created by Stingy. The kids decide to visit Stingy to see what's going on, but Robbie has prepared for this, and traps everyone besides Stephanie in a hole. Stephanie manages to get to the top of the castle after Stingy climbs the stairs to the top, but becomes trapped as well. Of course, Sportacus arrives and saves everyone. When the evil knight is spotted, he and Sportacus enter into a kind of jousting competition, using mops. Robbie gets turned around, and wanders into his own hole. He is revealed to be Robbie.

Mini Save

Stingy drives toward a hole and Sportacus fills it with his own body allowing Stingy to drive over him.

Rotten Plan

The kids are playing swords and making a noise. They never sit still or stop moving. Robbie tries to convince Stingy that he is really royalty.

Big Save

Sportacus saves Stingy and Stephanie from the top of the Tower. Earlier Robbie had locked Stingy in the tower.

Moral Lesson

Don't think too highly of yourself.

Epilogue

Robbie is still being trapped in the hole with his horse, which apparently has a cold (despite being a puppet), and it sneezes repeatedly on Robbie.

Trivia

  • External Cross References: Robbie's Purple Phoenix sigil, The Fleur de Lis, The lost shoe gag reminds us of the story of Cinderella. Stingy asks Sportacus "What's wrong with the World" which is the Title of a famous GK Chesterton novel on social issues.
  • Later Stingy declares himself "The Child formerly known as Prince" which is a reference to the Music Artist formerly known as Prince. After being rescued from the tower , Stingy affirms: "The child formerly known as prince is now just Stingy", this probably being a parody of what the '80 singer Prince once said.
  • We are never told how Robbie got hold of Stingy's shoe.
  • Sportacus loops a rope around the airship platform to his right, but when he calls down the skychaser it falls from straight above him.
    • Later the skychaser disappears and reappears when he needs it.
