Colour Themes

Colour Themes play a major role in LazyTown. Colours used are always bold and bright and the production team is constantly re-painting the set to keep the colours vibrant and vivid.

The Colours used in LazyTown have reference to specific characters as well as the Set itself.

Character Colours

The choice of colours for the various characters was, no doubt, motivated by a desire to distinguish the characters in the minds of the children viewing the show, but also to enhance their personalities.

• Stephanie: Main Colour: Pink. When Magnús Scheving created the character of Stephanie/Solla, he wanted her to have a color theme that reflected her characteristics and made her easily identifiable. He originally considered yellow, but after asking a few different girls about their favorite color, he decided on pink.
• Sportacus: Main Colour: Blue. When the show was first conceived by Magnús Scheving the character of Sportacus (known as Íþróttaálfurinn - The Sports Elf) had different colours. But when the TV production came along, he wanted to give Sportacus a more defined look and feel. He chose Blue as a strong Super Hero neutral colour.
• Robbie Rotten: Main Colour: Purple. Purple is another strong and dominant colour. It is a dark colour indicating a more shady character. It is also a very regal and refined colour giving Robbie a more distinguished nature, rather than just a plain evil and dirty look. Robbie is a "clean" and clever villain.
• Ziggy: Main Colours: Blue, Yellow, Red.
• Trixie: Main Colour: Red.
• Stingy: Main Colour: Yellow.
• Milford Meanswell: Main Colour: Brown.
• Bessie Busybody: Main Colour: Lilac
• Pixel: Main Colour: Purple, Orange, Silver.
