About LazyTown

LazyTown (Icelandic: Latibær) is a children's television program produced in Iceland that features a cast and crew from Iceland, the United Kingdom and the United States. It was created by Magnús Scheving, CEO of LazyTown Entertainment, who also plays Sportacus in the show. The show has been highly successful, airing in over 180 countries in a variety of different languages .

A total of 105 lazytown episodes were produced: 35 of Season 1, 18 of Season 2, 13 of Season 3, 13 of Season 4 and 26 LazyTown Extra episodes.

The story of LazyTown

Before Stephanie arrives, LazyTown is the laziest town in the world where the kids stay inside all day, playing video games and eating candy and junk food. She urges the LazyTown kids, Ziggy, Trixie, Stingy, and Pixel, to get outside, play, be active and eat healthy foods. Her uncle, the bumbling Mayor Milford Meanswell, advised Stephanie to ask the help of Sportacus, a self-described "slightly-above-average hero".

It is Sportacus' job to inspire the kids to have a healthy lifestyle, and to help solve low-key emergencies that occur from time to time. However, all this does not sit well with Robbie Rotten, a lazy man who lives in an underground lair hidden just on the edge of town. Most of the episodes involve Robbie Rotten dressing up in one of his numerous costumes (Robbie's disguises) and trying to make Sportacus and Stephanie leave town forever so he can encourage the kids to be lazy again.

In every episode there is a conflict between one or more of the characters and ends up with a moral of the story. Together with the fast paced LazyTown music makes it an energetic, funny and educational serie.

LazyTown will appeal to both boys and girls in the 2-7 year old age group. The storylines are quite complicated and fast moving. Younger children may not follow all the twists and turns but they will surely enjoy the fun, music and action in the show.
